NBC News’ Andrea Mitchell and Pete Williams are reporting today that the Boy Scouts of America’s National Board of Directors is actively considering dropping their national ban on gay scouts and gay scout leaders. The policy is now under consideration and if adopted it would leave the decision as to whether to admit gay scouts and leaders to the individual scouting organizations.
If approved, this change could be announced as early as the first week of February 2013.
