Always looking for what is “fresh and new” in the world of music, the award-winning DJ/Producer Gustavo Scorpio stands out when it comes to mixing. He emphasizes vibrant house music, predominantly melodic, with harmonies and strong tribal percussion going from Progressive House beats to the Big Room Circuit sounds.
His talent as a producer has evolved in a way that in 2010, a mix made at first just for fun, put him to work with Sony Music NY, to create an official single for “Pop Goes the World” from the US band “The Gossip” with other invites from Sony to participate in other new releases. Gustavo Scorpio has long been considered one of the most important Producers and DJs on the Latin-American music scene and now in the US. His mixes are commonly heard on dance floors around the world.
In July 2010, Gustavo’s mix of “Happiness” by Alexis Jordan went to #1 on the Billboard Dance Chart. He was awarded “Best Up and Coming DJ” in the 6th Annual JustCircuit Awards during Winter Music Conference in early March 2011 which lead to his stunning and most talked about headline performance at White Party Week’s Muscle Beach, where thousands of attendees didn’t want to leave when the music was over. As an official remixer for Gloria Estefan, it was at Muscle Beach where he debuted “Hotel Nacional” much to the delight of the crowd. In December of 2011, the rebroadcast of his White Party Week performance climbed to the #1 position in the world of podcasts on Podomatic and remained there for several weeks knocking out some of the other talents who thought they might remain seated at the top for eternity.
The successes for this true talent in the ever changing face of music continue to come much to his delight. He has recently remixed three of the latest Beyonce’s tracks as well as some of 2012’s top tracks by Enrique Iglesias, Leanne Rhymes and Suzanne Palmer.
