Tero Kristian Pitkämäki (born December 19, 1982 in Ilmajoki, Finland) is a Finnish javelin thrower. He stands 195 cm / 6’5″ tall and weighs 92 kg / 203 lbs. He has competed in three Olympic games: Athens 2004, Beijing 2008, and London 2012. At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, Tero placed fifth in the men’s javelin throw, with a score of 82.80.
He began throwing the javelin at age nine. Tero chose javelin because he thought it was interesting and knew from his first attempt that he could throw. He speaks English and Finnish.
