Fabian Hambüchen (born October 25, 1987 in Bergisch Gladbach, North Rhine-Westphalia) is a German gymnast. He stands 163 cm / 5’4″ tall and lives in Wetzlar, Germany. He’s one of the rare gymnasts who has broken through with a wide appeal in his country, and he was named the 2007 German sportsperson of the year.
He was the youngest German athlete at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens (at age 16) where he finished 7th in the Horizontal bar and 8th in the team competition. He has won five medals at World Championships and six at European Championships. At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, he won the bronze medal in the men’s high bar competition.
At the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London he won the silver medal in the men’s horizontal bar competition with a score of 16.400.
