Talented Adam Lambert’s latest single, “Never Close Our Eyes” and accompanying video is a feast for the eyes and ears. With a catchy, infectious beat and hook, it’s hard for the tune not to get stuck in your head, in a good way.
“Never Close Our Eyes,” is the second single from Adam Lambert’s historic, chart-topping second album, Trespassing. “Never Close Our Eyes” takes a dystopian, Orwellian look at the future. Adam’s sophomore album debuted on May 23, 2012 in the number one position on the Billboard 200 chart. Adam Lambert is the first openly gay artist with this accomplishment.
The video (directed by Dori Oskowitz and filmed in Los Angeles) takes us through a bleak look at the future. Inside a prison monitored by the all-seeing electronic eye of the camera, humanity is fed (subsides, if you will) on pills that remove any form of individuality and expression. Adam, of course, is an exception and is immune to these suppressants. He leads a revolt and brings escape mixed with color, life, and dance to his fellow prisoners. Visually the environment is a combination of stark white and bland gray colors throughout most of the video, with a rainbow of hues during the triumphant final chorus and choreographed dance routine.
Another great song and video from Adam Lambert. I can’t get enough of it and have this song on repeat. Perhaps I’ll even be doing the dance routine later tonight.
